YIN YOGA with caroline downey Sat 14th August 10.30-12 Suitable for all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (Yang) style of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. We can remain in the postures anywhere from one to twenty minutes! Yin and yang tissues respond quite differently to being exercised. The Yin is then followed by Yang-style yoga -- moving, flowing, enjoying the new spaciousness in the hips and lower back, areas created by our Yin poses. Drop-in, no booking necessary.

1)'Earth -Solidity(Prithvi/Bhumi) Find steadiness and comfort in all yogasanas. Develop a real connection to the Earth - on and off the mat. Ideally this chakra brings us health, prosperity, security, and dynamic presence. Standing asanas best demonstrate how to find balance in our lives.Together we will explore the solidity of essential vinyasa asanas.
2) 'Water -Cohesion/Fluidity(Ap/Jala)' Here is where we tap into our creative juices and unlock the ultimate, seamless, devotion-inspired flow. The second chakra connects us to others through feeling, desire, sensation, and movement. This is where we learn to make peace with change and uncertainty. It is the home of grace and fluidity.
Sunday: 10.00am-12.30pm and 1.30-4.00pm
3) Fire -Heat(Agni/Tejas)Vinyasa-based yoga offers students creative ways to build and maintain the fire from within. This 'Power' chakra brings us energy, effectiveness, spontaneity, and non-dominating power.Learn some basic sequences that can be a launching pad for personal and instructional exploration.
4) Air/Wind -Expansion/Vibration(Vayu/Pavan)A healthy fourth chakra allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, and have a profound sense of peace and centeredness. From the 'Heart' chakra, we will explore the outward stretching of the inward breath. Breathing techniques will be used at the beginning, throughout, and at the end of vinyasa. From here we learn how to let love in and let love out!
